Creating A Sustainable Workforce

Working in the mental health world comes with a lot of pressure. Often a lot of people depend on you to turn up for work every day. And while this is part of the work we do, unfortunately too many clinicians have experienced workplaces which push clinicians to their limits and provide little support. This is the recipe for burn out.

Here at The Wattle Tree Clinic we are determined to do it differently. We are committed to improving the longevity of our workforce, because burn out is a problem that needs to be solved collectively, not individually. Because both as a sector and a service we can only help people if we have clinicians to do the helping.

Grounded & Relatable

Working in the youth mental health sector can be hard. It’s rewarding, but it’s also demanding and emotionally exhausting. And, work is only ONE part of your very big life. We will remind of this constantly.

Creative & Critical Thinkers

We believe that it’s possible to create workplace practices that work for the clinic AND make people feel their BEST at work. Who says you have to struggle through work you’re not confident with? Or have to work 9 to 5? Or work through the summer holidays?

Compassionate & Inclusive

Everyone wants different things from their workspace. Some want regular catch-ups and lots of feedback and others want to be in & out as quick as possible. We love the diversity this brings, and are happy to support people in whatever way works best.

Our Values In Action

Our values aren’t just principles we use when it comes to seeing clients or advertising for referrers. They’re also what guide us in our every day operations, from informing policies and procedures, to guiding management decisions and all staff communications. Because we don’t believe in the difference between our public offerings vs. behind-the-scenes. At Wattle, we treat our staff like we’d treat a client.
